NASA shouldn't be getting the credit for this one, it was developed by XCOR.

How the hell?: can that thing stay put? that must have so much thrust.. i guess if you just put Rosie O'donnell on top of it, that might work

    • nerd__

      @PearlJam19its digitally edited....just like movies........yo

    • Dliteful

      Dliteful - 2 years ago

@PearlJam19If you put Rosies fat ass on it you'd break the thing. The point is something powerful enough that we could shoot than man-hater into space and be rid of her.

um: "aircrafts" is not a word. The plural for aircraft is aircraft.

butane engine?: Its actually a Methane engine. The purpose of using methane is that methane can be gererated easily on mars, so that a trip to mars and back can be possible.

    • Rahma

      Rahma - 3 years ago

@spirex04Correct: Indeed it is :P Awesome to see someone here actually knows their stuff! :D My little contribution: The methane engine's also called a "PDE" (Pulse Detonation Engine), the tell-tale sign of the engine being the glowing globe-shapes seen in the exhaust-cone of the engine.

woody is right!: i bought a pair of B.T.s ostrich belly cowboy boots just so he could keep this research going! N.A.S.A.? paaaaaaaaleeeeese, they can't even come up with a decent electric toohbrush. the O rings on my last N.A.S.A. toothbrush failed and it blew up in the sink just as I was gonna throttle up and go for gingavitis MECO...duh.

sorry, but your all wrong: this engine was built by billy bob thorton, he built on is ranch in winslow az. to power his land speed record breaking 1979 kenworth semi. the methane is a byproduct from his ostrich ranch which he raises to sell thier hides to make ostrich belly cowboy boots

That isn't going to be used in jet aircraft: because it will give off too much heat and the heat signature will be easily identifiable. New aircraft are all about stealth. That will probably be used for spacecraft.

    • Muppet213

      Muppet213 - 4 years ago

@rgbrthhtyYou must have missed...: Where it said NASA. Of course this is designed with space in mind. Also, do you think current aircraft run on cold jet engines? This one isn't much, if at all, hotter than modern jet turbine engines.

    • Atv821

      Atv821 - 4 years ago

@rgbrthhtyhah: the funny thing is that according to what you just said, NASA makes space craft, then why does it say that this is for NASA's aircraft instead of spacecrafts.

@rgbrthhtymuppet: what do u think one of the A's mean AIR that mean it could be a plane and if they can outrun the attackers u can be big as hell and be PINK
