My friend and I did the same thing back in 1980's except we opened the door to the microwave which was above the stove so we were on two chairs getting a better look. The explosion sent us both across the kitchen. I have always wanted to see it done again. Thanks

Its: a well known fact that pure watter itself will superheat in a microwave... that compounded with the yoke of the egg expanding and heating at a faster rate then the white caused a booboo I'm sure...

physics: the heat speeds up the molecules and increases the pressure inside the egg. thats why u have to make a hole somewhere in the egg for the pressure to equalize before you heat it.

@soccerguy951 false.: if you look closely, you can see the flutter of wings. not only does the mictrowave force the egg to hatch it speeds the growth rate of the chick inside. theres a good chance the chick inside grew to an age that it could already lay eggs within the egg. i know its boring, but its part of my life.

@soccerguy951 no: No, the microwaves speed up the molecules which causes friction that causes heat. The heat then turns the liquid in the egg to steam which causes pressure. Pressure build up in an egg is bad due to its shape. Bottom line, don’t microwave eggs in their shells.

it was: the glass. they probably kept the egg in the glass in the fridge or something. when they heat it up then cool it down after it was cold, boom. happends to all glass. i think.
