This is another spoof of the old Mastercard commercials. I thought it was an appropriate one to post as our country makes one of the largest financial decisions in history this week.

Farmerfran bellow me is an idiot, i suggest you stop trying to talk smart and go take some intro to macroeconomics classes.. obviously everything is cyclical but you cant blame one bubble for another one! Otherwise you could say the dot com bubble was tied to war in iraq or the re-election of G.W. The long and short of the subprime mess was basically idiot average joes (poor black people) buying houses they NEVER should have been able to in the place. They dont pay their loans, banks dont get their forecas

@gdnimrodSeveral economists have argued that the stock market crash, especially in the dot-com and technology sectors, in 2000 and the subsequent 70% (or so) drop of the NASDAQ composite index resulted in many people taking their money out of the stock market and purchasing real estate, which many believed to be a more reliable investment.[23][45][46] Yale economist Robert Shiller argued further that "irrational exuberance" was displaced from the fallen stock market to housing: "Once stocks fell, real estate became

philbio, you stubborn, arrogant, elitist conformist tool. Don't believe everything you hear. Think for yourself. I know it's trendy to hate George Bush. But there really isn’t a good reason to. He did a great job keeping us safe post 9/ 11; which is his primary job. He has no control over the economy. That responsibility lies with your Democrat lead Congress. It’s very simple. The dot com bubble burst, all that money went into housing, and that bubble burst. It’s the economic cycle more than anything.

You putzes living at your moms house working at foot locker or taco bell are screwed. If there is a recession your political views wont really matter if you are jobless with 100 bucks to your name. you will be beating the pavement with everyone else

@SilverdumperUnder Clinton, the entire federal government put massive pressure on banks to grant more mortgages to the poor and minorities. Clinton's secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Andrew Cuomo, investigated Fannie Mae for racial discrimination and proposed that 50 percent of Fannie Mae's and Freddie Mac's portfolio be made up of loans to low- to moderate-income borrowers by the year 2001. For those of you who failed highschool math, low and moderate income borrowers are high risk liabilities that shouldn

@SilverdumperPerhaps if you cornfed hillbilly morons worried less about putting boots up people's @sses and more about the fiscal stability of this country, then we wouldn't be in this mess. Rebublicans controlled the judicial, executive and legislative branches for 6 YEARS of Bush's presidency... and they spent OUR money like drunken sailors on pet projects and Medicare Part D. They aren't conservative except when it comes to stupid stuff like gay marriage and abortion.

Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae donated more poltical contribution money to Obama over the past 3 years than any other member of congress in the past 30 years (120 grand). Democrats have only made 2 mistakes in US history: foreign and domestic policy.

By the way, how do you think Wall Street crooks made so much money the past few years (pre-crisis), even though the DJIA has only gone up 300 points TOTAL in 8 YEARS?!? Two words: "churning" and "fraud." Conservatives (who run the markets, the WSJ, etc.) are crooks and non-patriots. Each one should be tried for treason and hung.

Hope you know Obama's enconomic advisor was the CEO and raking in 10's of millions of dollars a year. What about Obama and Dodd's contributions? Good thing the FBI launched a probe into this...it will all pan out soon. Don't worry.

Rebublicans are morons. During Reagan/Bush I, we saw budget deficits balloon, and a banking scandal (S & L crisis). During Clinton? Budget surpluses, and a DJIA that went from about 3,200 to 10,500. Now that we have another "Fantastic" rebublican president? The DJIA has gone from 10,500 to 10,800 (an increase of .3% per year), and we have yet another banking scandal. Somehow, rebublican apologists still can't accept that their party's policies are failures. Wonderful...

@philbioYou are one stupid SOB. CONGRESS controls spending, and the Dems were in charge of Congress during the Reagan administration. Wake up. The GOP was in charge of Congress after the first 2 years of Clinton, and their budget-cutting led to the surplus. (The fake Dot Com bubble helped.)

    • philbio

      philbio - 3 years ago

@philbioKeep drinking that rebublican Kool-Aid. You both should be executed. Not just for treason, but also for stupidity. What say you about the 6 years that the Bushie GOP controlled the Judicial, Executive and Legislative branches? Nothing? Then shut the fukk up.

    • NoBama

      NoBama - 3 years ago

@philbioI hope you know this whole situation we are in right now is becuase of Clinton and Carter!! It all started under the Carter administration, and was amplified under Clinton. Those two are the ones that wanted to give risky home loans to people who COULD NOT afford them! "We need to make housing more affordable for minoroties" - Bill Clinton. Well, here we are 8 years later, and the economy is taking the biggest hit through...you guessed it... the housing market! Also, 9/11 happened AFTER Clinton left office.

    • NoBama

      NoBama - 3 years ago

@philbioLet's not forget now that the Democratic Congress in the past 2 YEARS has had the LOWEST approval rating in history! The only reason Bush went down is becuase the public is uninformed and the Liberal biased media. Also, don't forget your hero Bill Clinton is the reason all the jobs went outsourced and overseas!

Yet you pauper hillbillies praise a political party that has done nothing but make you poorer and dumber. Keep voting rebublican, ya moron.
