  Actually...: those are DD batteries. Much more expensive than AA's. Use um in you boombox or flashlight that requires 2 d cell batteries end to end.

    @glick89Actually HappyV: a DD battery is basically 2 1.5 volt batteries stacked on top of each, making 3 volts. 4 DD make 12 Volts. And he is spot on about using them in applications like flashlights and boom boxes.

    @glick89correcting a few things: first, even AAA batteries are 1.5v, stacking two of them would still make 3v aalein so technically correct, but vague. Second, a DD battery IS in fact two D batteries end on end.
