  They were: using a kite designed for kiteboarding. The same thing happened to me. I didn't get quite as high as that but, it dropped me from about 10 feet and pulled me about 30 yards down the field. It hurts.

  How big was that kite?!: That was pretty cool... and more than 25ft in ground distance covered. Height wise he was at least 4 and maybe 5 body lengths in the air... so I guess he was about 25ft in the air too, figuring he is at least average height of 5ft 8in...
