@DltnBrkWell, it's safe to say that you and "bordguy1123" below (the first to reply to you) failed science! Seriously, "have no ability to sting" and "there tenticals are gone", WTF??? You guys are a prime example of what happens when a person is just DUMB!

    • khendar

      khendar - 2 years ago

@DltnBrkDltnBrk is actually right. The lake is called Ongeim'l Tketau and is located on an island in Palau. The lake is effectively cut off from the ocean so they have no natural predators. Therefore they have lost the need for a sting and have bred in massive numbers. Next time you get some facts before calling other people dumb.

      bongalicious - a year ago

@DltnBrkanton is actually right, the sting is'nt defense mechanism, it is a way to catch prey. They still sting, it just is harmless to humans, so you get the fact muahahahahahahha

Palau: The place in question has to be Palau. These jellyfish have lost their abilty to sting. They travel along the lake as the sun moves. People fly from all over the world to dive with the jellies

    • R_E_S

      R_E_S - 2 years ago

@bodycrackerrThey still have the ability to sting: Their nematocysts (stinging cells) are too small to affect the human body.

      crazykid596 - 2 years ago

That's: Jelly Fish lake. I think it is in Hawaii. The jelly fish got trapped in the lake when tho ocean once flowed there. The water is freshwater so the poison in the stingers went away.

    • bodycrackerr

      bodycrackerr - 2 years ago

@Genoc1dePalau: I think it is in the island of Palau. Major dive destination
