This is Ivan Pacheco doing a drumming solo. The dude is amazing. I dont know what the record is for most beats per minute but I would like to see someone try and beat this.

A lot of diddles and traditional grip an awesome snare solo does not make. Honestly, just because there is a lot of notes does not make it awesome. He's good, I'll give you that, but the snare line at U of I is better.

Description = fail. The BPM of the solo barely gets above 180 (just follow the grove of the piece). But the speed of his notes is pretty badass. But it is pretty impressive, but it just seemed a little too showy when he played with his elbow. Impressive, but really showy, which you see a lot from BD.

@mike5735Or it's a corp style snare and not a rock snare that your used to. sounds like any other snare you'll hear on a field or in the military to me.

is this a drum solo: or a tribal dance?

    • FallenBaller

      FallenBaller - 2 years ago

@hendrix67You guys are complete idiots.: What, you guys thought he just made this up on the spot? How do you think he learnt this? Idiots. Ivan Pacheco marches for the Blue Devils. One of the highest quality, and most consistent Drum Corps in the world. This kind of drumming is a rudimental drumming, something obviously few of you understand. No good drumlines play matched. And don't think you're hot shit and could play this blindfolded either. Solos like this take months and months to put together and master.

      txgolfer75077 - 2 years ago

@hendrix67wow fallenballler: I agreed with everything you said except, the best high school drumline, the Marcus drumline, plays matched. Just check you facts first.

@triksr4kids8589you dont need: to be able to read music to bang out nasty beats on a drum

@triksr4kids8589WTF!: You're an idiot, this is DCI, of course he can read music! This knocks the shit out of anything you can do.

Not that great: Any snare drummer worth his salt can play that kind of crap on a Kevlar head with those idiot war clubs. I give him props for the traditional grip over match though. Most Drumline guys practice these kinds of flairs and routines for weeks, so Im not impressed. If he could read a sheet of music with that rythm after only seeing it and playing through it once, then I would be amazed.
