   duffy is right, those are artillery rounds, not missles, you can tell the difference by how they sound before they hit. artillery whistles and missles/rockets sound like little fighter jets.

  THE TRUTH------: DieStanding was about the only one that was on the ball with this one. i was pulling duty in our OPCEN the day that happened. place: FB Tyce(sp?)Afghanistan (like 1/2 of the people have posted) it's a US Army SF compound. what happened: ACM fired motors and then high tailed it to pakistan and then we returned motor fire. that hillside is about a good 500-800 meters away (if not more). yes it's real, and those guys from 10th Mtn Div. that were attached to the SF guys.
