Yea it's much easier for the bike to rotate without the weight of the guy on it, think about the position he was in when he let go. The rotation/weight place was at the worst, if he wouldn't have let go he would have landed in that exact position, except with the bike crushing him...

first of all he probably wouldn't have made it because when he released he pushed off... 2nd of all its TP bike and he has as many as he wants so i doubt he cared about the bike. In NC jim did actually land it dirt to dirt for the Guinness record.

to anybody that doesnt watch Nitro Circus, he attempted this and actually broke his back in this video but made a comeback and i believe it was only a few months later, he actually landed one and became the first motocross rider to land a front flip
