How do we hear the sound after the shot if the mic is next to the gun.... I'm really confused

Very doable with a properly "Tuned" rifle and hand loads...1000 yrds is baby shit to a .30 caliber or larger.

It's not that the sound is out of sync, it's that the bullet is super-sonic, and gets there before the sound does.

How can everybody be so dumb? He is using a HV (High Velocity) round, with the way the gun sounds more than likely also using a muzzle break. The bullet is traveling faster than the speed of sound... doesn't make a difference where the camera is... delayed gunshot sound is one of the best advantages that snipers have.. the target is down before you even here the shot.. harder to pinpoint a location.. what you are hearing is the sound bouncing off the ridge on the other side when the bullet slows.. also

Totally doable, just count the time from when the camera shakes near the beginning (that's when he shot) to when you hear the shot, and from when the goat goes down to when he say's "He's down" and it's about the same amount of time, the audio is just off. 943 yards is totally doable.

I'm pretty sure this is complete bullshit. You hear the shot AFTER the goat falls down and it's a very narrow cut (not much video leading up to the shot). I wouldn't be surprised if someone closer shot the goat and that's why we heard the sound after the goat had fallen. The only possibility that this would be legit is if we were hearing the return from the hillside, but without the initial gunshot and the very close cutting of the video clip, I'm willing to call bullshit.

Terrible hunting ethics. He could just as well injured the animal, causing a slow and terrible death. If you did that in Norway, you would probably loose your hunting license. Ridiculous shot, playing with animals' life. I am not a hysterical vegetarian, I am a hunter myself. This is just sad and meaningless.
