What is the difference between the 1st and 2nd dimension? Nothing, right? To us 3D people, it makes no difference which direction you call the 1st and which you call the 2nd. The same goes for higher spatial dimensions. There is no difference between a 4th and 5th and 6th dimension. That's why it's dumb to call it THE 4th or THE 5th dimension. This whole video is bs.
This is wrong. When string theorists talk about 10 or so dimensions, they mean that most of them are SPATIAL. not some ridiculous mumbo-jumbo about choices. Look it up on wikipedia

Or you can open a Bible and answer all your questions. Only through HIM will you find answers.

@America4Americans or or follow with me here....you can accually THINK for once instead of hiding from what you dont understand via a book
sooster - 12 months ago
@America4Americans HE does not know all the answers. I am pretty, and any good scientist will tell you, that the Bible does not contain all the answers. If I want to understand something the last book I would be opening to get an explanation would be the Bible, one of the greatest works of fiction ever written.
epochdeus - 11 months ago
@America4Americans I hate to say this, but nobody on this earth will ever find the answers to everything. No book ever written including the bible has all knowledge in it. You couldn't build a car or an airplane with what's in it, it won't tell you how electricity and magnetism works. It's a purely spiritual book and can only help you with spiritual things. Why bother contemplating the 10th dimension anyway when it's so far beyond our grasp with the chances of the this whole theory being wrong anyway...

@America4Americans Doesn't your god disapprove of being open minded? Isn't there some soldier's death you could be protesting? An abortion clinic you could be bombing? A little boy to be touched? The blind faithful are exactly that. Blind.

The tenth (or ninth dimension, whatever) encompasses all the possibilities in every timeline in a signle universe. So wouldn't the tenth dimesnion (or eleventh) dimension be a line draw between every possible result of every timeline of two different universes?
Morgan-Sullivan-803 - 10 months ago
@Kai-Gomez-485 That is the seventh. Sixth is the collection of timelines for our universe. Seventh treats all the timelines of 2 separate universe as a point and connects them. Tenth collects all the possible universes (which are connected in the Ninth) and treats the entirety of possibility, conceivable from every initial condition, and treats them alllll as a point. Everything that could ever happen, even outside our universe, is treated as a dot.

Actually, string theory says that there are 11 dimensions.

Awesome. gotta pause occasionally so soak it all up but if you let it, it begins to make sense. Thats how aliens can move in ways we say are physically impossible (folding Dimensions)

This is not a very good video describing dimensions.

This theory is premised on the notion that we 3 dimensional beings have trouble perceiving higher dimensions, just as the 2 dimensional 'flatlander' has trouble perceiving the 3rd. But that's not true, the comparision is invalid since flatlanders cannot exist to percieve anything for the reasons stated. We do, and we percieve the 4th dimension for what it is and move within it just fine. We can see the ant moving through space and time and never does the ant magically dissappear and reappear, unless Chr

@puuuuchi Since your message was cut off for length, I figure, I'm not sure whether or not this statement has been explained/debunked by more of your message, but I'm pretty sure that to fully perceive the 4th dimension, we'd need to have the ability to *exist* in whatever moment in time of our life, right?
LancasterTX - 3 years ago
@puuuuchi I agree with ytsejammer. We don't percieve the 4th dimension for what it is as you argue. We can only see a single slice of it at a time, just as the flatlanders can only see a single slice of the third dimension. In a sense, the ant as does magically appear and disappear from one moment to the next. The ant I saw 3 seconds ago is not the configuration of molecules that I see now. I certainly cant see all moments of my life simultaneously.
@puuuuchi No you idiot. The rest of his message is in another dimension. For gods sake didn't you watch the video??????

That blew something and it wasnt my mind. :(
xtrnl - 2 years ago
Wow. That blew my mind. I love quantum physics!
@xtrnl 1) This was not quantum physics. 2) This wasn't even right in describing higher spatial dimensions. Just because something blows your mind doesn't mean it's right. And string theory is pretty much ridiculous anyways.
chuck_meister - 2 years ago
I've been to the tenth dimension before. It's not a cool place to be. There are some ways you can get there.
Why_not_fandy - 2 years ago
Where does *purpose* come into play?
@Why_not_fandy Purpose is deciding which path you as a 3-dimensional (as you perceive it) being will take.

If the 10th Dimension is a point of all possible infinities, then is there a point of no possible infinities in the 10th Dimension that a line can be drawn to? "And now for something completely different:" Where do black holes fit in?

Ever see the movie Donnie Darko??? Explains the movie. Its a good movie even if you don't understand it on this kind of level.
