  My first helo ride: My first helicopter ride in Iraq was on a CH-47 Chinook. My friend and I were flyng to Baghdad so we could go on R&R to Quatar. We didn't make it. About an hour outside of Baghdad, we were shot down by an SA-7 missile. My friend was one of the 16 KIAs. 14 WIA were EVAC'd to Germany. I was the only Return to Duty after four days in the hospital.   Yep.: That was a really bad crash. The Ch-47 Chinooks rotors were demolished and came off when it fell. The Ch-47 got something along the lines of being crushen, and then it fell and exploded. It is definately not a funny thing, and it is a terrible thing for the people who were inside.
