Keep your eye on this guys left hand. As the race begins their is an explosion near his left hand. I am not sure if the handlebar exploded or something on the main frame of the bike but either way thats going to leave a mark.

     you know it's funny.. this vid has been around for so many years.. and all I have seen is comments on how lame it is and the weak description.. but do any of you realize that this dude lost his hand in said engine failure? cause you can see it bouncing down the track..

     It is called a Clutch explodtion...It can happen even in Cars. It is worse in cars, cuz it can take your foot off!!

    Exlposion: Iknow this is old but he held the rpm to high for to long and it build up gas in the engine and when he let it go it backfired through the carbs severly

      @emtbasicnevermind, not a 'busa, just thought it was from the tail section.: anyways, what ya said still maid no sense weather its carbed or injected. It didn't load up and stall, that was a catastrophic engine failure

    oh my fucking god!: if you were any kind of man...you would know that handle bars dont explode! good fucking god...all that thing did was throw a fuckin piston.....damn. next thing we know we'll be watching a video of a guy changing his blinker fluid or changing his muffler bearings....

    ..: I race an 8 second dragbike myself an older GSXR 1100. First of all the bike in the video is surely not a Busa, I have one as a backup bike. This is what happens when you make a 750 into a dragbike. I think it could have been the camchain. It is on the left side, however piston impaling in not unheard of, but mostly on top fuel harleys.

    EXPLODING HANDLEBARS: if you have an air shifter the air is most likly in the chassis or a tank which would be more than strong enough to hold up even on an impact. NO2 would not blow the motor, NO2 is NOT flamable, it simply forces more air into the motor allowing for a second fuel pump to force more fuel into the motor and would NOT explode unless heated the bottle was heated to extreme tempetures (such as heating it up to build pressure with a blow torch)

    Piston: I race a low 8 second dragbike myself and i have seen pistons come out of the bottom, top and even the front of the casing, it actually has happend to one of my old motors but luckily the head held up and the piston just cracked it.

    shifter: on drag bikes there is a button on the left side of the bike. it is an air compressed shifter that is the most logical thing that happend and its in the right spot also

    think about this....: he didn't throw a rod, nor did the piston magically manage to go through several inches of metal, not to mention some of it harder than itself, only to come flying out in a fireball to hit him in the hand..(get off the hollywood bullshit, this is real life engine workings here)....it's called a nitrous hiccup, it happens

    ....: people are so dumb if u think the handle bars exploded u need mental theropy, and some type of brain implant to make u at least a little smart, if u watch the guy revs his engine reallly high and the piston comes loose, if u watch real close u see the piston shoot off the handle bars and then blow off his arm, which really sucks for him cause hes never racen again unless they find a way to make somethin that will let him hold the handle bars

      @1337_piroit's not a busa: it's a YZFGXSR NINJA 2200Ri But seriously it looks more like a zuki gxr 750 with the rear cowl, lowered, extended swing arm and probably motor work. but it doesn't really look anything like a busa
