I'm sorry, he is not a beginner. I think what happened was he was attempting a different kind of flip. I forgot the name but it's something like a whole out or something where you do the flip but mid tuck you spread your body back straight out. Looks very gracious but it's also very difficult. If you know how to spring like that you sure as hell aren't going to do something dumb like forget to tuck on your flips.
