Grand Canyon Skywalk

Perhaps some of you have heard of the Grand Canyons new Skywalk which is a glass bridge suspended 4000 feet above the canyon in a horseshoe shape. What do you think? Would you walk out on it? Can someone take some footage from the skywalk itself?

Anyone know how much it costs: to walk on that thing? I heard it was an absolutely retardedly high price, which doesnt surprise me. The only way those reds make money is with their casinos and now this unbelievable ripoff

I've been on the Skywalk.: Biggest rip-off i have ever went on... You don't even go out that far, the price is higher than the brochure tells you, and if you go in the summer the bigs eat you alive. HORRIBLE.

A bit pants: When I heard about the "Skywalk bridge over the Grand Canyon" I thought putting a bridge over the canyon was a great idea, but then it turned out that actually all they'd done was built a bit of an extension to the cliff face, which sucks and probably costs lots to go on

A complete rip off: I agree with djtk85. This is another way for teh indians to scandal money off of tourists. The same method is used as was for Rob Kenievel. Jumping over the grand canyon. BS!!! This thing is in a canyon which is set off from the grand canyon, you have to pay like $15 just to walk on it, and it's not that far off the ground. It's stupid. The sad part is, they're going to start taking busses there stating that it's "part of the tour" and make people pay to go on this stupid thing.

skywalk summary: the skywalk is truly an ingenius rip-off. not only do you have to pay the money to get on the skywalk itself, but you have to pay to get into the reservation as well. you can barely see anything below you as the supports block most of your view. it's more like 1000 feet than 4000 feet straight down, as the canyon does not reach its true bottom directly beneath you. while it's a fantastic view, it's nothing that can't be seen from standing right on the edge of the canyon yourself, whi

@bballboy521Actually,: a Chinese investor financed the sky walk. The Hualapai indians are enjoying some profit share and the project has created many jobs for them. The sky walk is worth the trip, although I enjoyed hiking guano point and the jaw dropping helicopter tour more than the bridge. The most entertaining part of the bridge experience was watching the "helpers" talk people off the bridge who were frozen in fear :)

the problem i see: It is too far outside of Vegas to draw enough visitors. With out a local casino there won't be enough revenue to pay back the rediculous pricetag on this thing. Also the cost to go out on it is supposed to be well over $50 a person. how many families of 4-5 are going to drive 2 hours and pay $200 for a five minuite walk on that thing? Not many.

HERES THE PROBLEM WITH THIS SKY WALK: THIS TRIBE HAS SOMETHING LIKE A 60 PERCENT UNEMPLOYMENT RATE... COULD THEY HAVE NOT SPENT THE NEARLY 30 MILLION DOLLARS TO CONSTRUCT THIS TO MAYBE HELP LOOK FOR JOBS FOR THESE OTHER TRIBE MEMBERS? JUST SAYING... IT WAS A VAST WASTE OF MONEY CONSIDERING HOW UN-DEVELOPED THE TRIBE IS AS FAR AS SOCIETY SUCCESS.

    • u4ick

      u4ick - 2 years ago

@ajojedaof course unemployment is high: they have no motivation to work when we continue to pay them blood money for the whole cowboys and Indians game we used to play.

@ajojedablood money--deserved money: if the same thing happened today as what happened to the Indians back then---we would be going to war, like in Iraq

@ajojedaGet a clue...: All the native americans that i know dont wanna work. They get checks from the casinos. With that money they either drink or do drugs or both. Simple as that!
