shifting?: most cars like this one and f1 series cars have a sequential transmission that doesn't require the use of a clutch other than the initial takeoff, starting and completely stopping.

@n8pwnsuPikes Peak: Is a hill climb. This is not a hill climb. This is not a "one off" car. Any team that races at this level has a back-up car for every driver and some teams have as many as three drivers starting. The "key factor" is not "ultimate acceleration", there is no singular goal behind the engineering. It's a combination of many things together. A car with 1000 HP and no grip would be destroyed by a car with 500 HP and an unbreakable connection to the road.
