  just because you are asleep does not mean your arms and sub-conscience don't work. I have kicked my wife in my sleep, even spoken. barely breaking ones fall by reflex is not out of the question. pretty sure if it was fake, she would have some reaction to smashing her head. you try falling from a stand on a baseboard and see if you can still pull a Van Dam through the process.
