This is an FAA radar track sequence of FedEx planes avoiding a storm as they approach the Memphis airport. Pretty cool to watch, looks kinda like an ant farm. Also I had no idea there were this many FedEx planes, anyone know how many flights the have a day?

Could be fake...: I noticed one "plane" taking of, flying behind the storm, making 2 circles and then moving on? What was the purpose of 2 circles? A pilot would never waste fuels on making circle for no reason

@Lemeshianosthey'll do that if waiting for weather to clear: i've been in a 'holding pattern' for over 30 mins and then the pilot decided to move on to a nearby airport b/c weather didn't clear up. or it could also be fake:)

@Lemeshianostrue...: that shit happened to me landing in San Fran. I was pretty nervous too, because we kept circling then finally got below the clouds damn near on the water until a runway magically appeared.

doubt their all fedex: but memphis is the headquarters I think

heh: with me working right by the airport, this is a very true representation of the fedex routes. Planes taking off are in an even higher number. And yes, air traffic does stop for heavy rain / thunderstorms.

Im curious as to how this could all be fedex traffic..: the time period of this whole video is only a few hours, maybe 4 or 5 judging on the speed of the storm, and the speed of the planes (especially when landing).. so how could this many FEDEX planes be scheduled for arrival in Memphis during this period? I think this was all traffic to the airport, not just fedex

the reason: theres so many is because thats over a while not all within 10 mins but it looked like some of them were so close then they just turned around at the last second and also some of them just went right through the storm
