  @MangoJIn U.S. he hasn't committed a crime until he walks out the door with the unpaidfor merchandise. It's not stolen as long as it is in the store. I guess you could use your pockets as a shopping cart then walk up to the checkout and pay right? Stupid rules...

  @MangoJWell technicall a store can hold you for any means they wish until the police arrive as long as they call the police and they are on their way. But Really it's not that bad.. This is how candy bars are made. They catch chubby shoplifters and turn them into fatty foods. Keeps the streets clean and the jails empty, and make other fat kids into addicted candy thiefs...it's a vicious circle.

You dont have to leave the store to be charged with shoplifting idiot!! As long as the shoplifter shows intent to steal something. Maybe you should move your dumb ass to Canada and help clear out some of the stupid in the air!

In most American stores employees aren't allowed to confront you, they just make it painfully obvious they know you are planning on stealing something and hope you get scared and put it back, unless of course its assist protection or some other rent a cop homo. I bet you can tell working at target sucked balls. .
