With New Years Day less than one day away this guy wanted to demonstrate the fastest way to open up a champagne bottle. I have a feeling this is something you likely dont get right on your first attempt.

Don't use the blade: Using the back of the knife will work just as well and it won't ruin the blade.

no true drinker of fine sparkling wine...you frogs take a hike....: would torture a fine bottle of sparkling wine this way...only rednecks who love andre label charmat bulk process or as they say in the sticks..welchs grape juice with da bubbles

@nakedmooseyou're are the redneck: it's called Sabrage, it originates from Napoleon;s calvary opening the bottles with their swoards this way to celebrate. Just because you know some labels doesn't make you the finest sparking wine drinker. Tard.

@Pea_Tear_GriffynThe flask is designed: For not dumping glass splinters into the drink

    • ZachD

      ZachD - 3 years ago

@Pea_Tear_GriffynI know the flask is designed like that: but what about the bottle?

    • donjefegordo

      donjefegordo - 3 years ago

@Pea_Tear_Griffynwhen: the foam and champagne shoot out the bottle it carries any glass shards with it. this means there is no glass in the bottle.

    stupidest: trick ever

  • danmckay1

    danmckay1 - 4 years ago

this is a formal event trick: I'm a chef and can tell you 2 things fir sure.... 1) this is actualy a very safe way to open the champagne, the pressure releasing from the bottle blows outward and so there will be no shads of glass (of course the better the champagne the better the quality of the vessel and therefore less likely to 'splinter' as well). 2) this is a throwback from the time of the french aristocracy. At formal afairs they would kick them off with the highest ranking military man in the roo

u could have broke the top off: cut a hole in it and sucked it, cut the top off like that! or u could just do it the most effective way, by taking the cork off.

  • ROLANDofGILEAD

    ROLANDofGILEAD - 4 years ago

why not: just open it like a normal person would?

  • themoose615

    themoose615 - 4 years ago

lmfao: well i had chanpagne for new years and all i did was pulled off the top. Didnt have to do any of that breaking stuff.

have fun drinking your bottle of champagne: with bits of glass in it

    • messiah91l

      messiah91l - 4 years ago

@donwilsonagreed: he should instead use a band saw, might have smaller pieces when he's done, believe it or not, people like champagne opening man actually reproduce!

    • reffup

      reffup - 4 years ago

@donwilsonidiots: as soon as the bottle opens the foam that is emitted pushes out any little tiny glass particles that MAY have exhisted

  • Bitchnigaho

    Bitchnigaho - 4 years ago

This is actually quite easy.: If you do it like on the video there won't be any bits of glass in the bottle.

      fdurinfred - 2 years ago

@crackerjack20Yeah: And if you can rebound it off the wall at the right angle, one of your guests might be lucky enough to get hit in the face by a flying broken glass bottle top.

The technique is called "sabrage": It's supposed to be done with a sword, the pressure will clear out any glass shards, the French came up with it, and it is done in some restaurants. http://images. Images&gbv=2
