Here we have a Remote Control F-117 Steath Fighter Jet worth around $30,000, and it loses the canopy in flight causing the aerodynamics to go to hell. That's one way to hurt your pocket book.

Eject Eject Eject: At least a real pilot would fly the damn thing into a remote area. This moron flies the 500 pound craft back at the observing crowd. The "pilot" is damn lucky he didn't kill some spectator.

    • tenkazPin

      tenkazPin - 3 years ago

@kcphotomanthats part one of two: next time the pilot kills the whole crowd, and posts in on break. That would make a decent video.

@kcphotomanhe might: have put the plane down on purpose to keep it out of the crowd.. you just dont really know.

yeah: they are worth up to 30grand but the servos and turbine engine was not harmed i gurantee it, buy another $300-1500 body kit and get to building! unless you buy a ARF that is

    • skyhawk1755

      skyhawk1755 - 2 years ago

@rambyservos: He might have to regear them but every thing else would be ok.

    • Dliteful

      Dliteful - 2 years ago

@rambyBull: the engine wasnt damaged. He landed in sand and unless he was full on deadstick with zero rpms those turbines were drawing in air which means sand. And hed be foolish to reuse flight critical servos if they are potentially damaged.

@rambyshutup!!!: i have no idea what you are talking about!!!

@rambyyea thats tru: it definately wasnt totalled.

    • Fresnel149

      Fresnel149 - 3 years ago

@rambyTurbines?: You can't build a jet engine that small. I'd be willing to bet that thing uses mini props.

    • AtOneWithNothing

      AtOneWithNothing - 3 years ago

@rambyHAHAHAH! Fresnel149: You are very ignorant. It is definitly powered by a turbine jet engine, which would explain why it sounds like an actual jet plane. Anyone can buy a small turbine engine, look it up buddy.

F-117: I'm sure that since he won't send the molds back to the origianl owner he can make another.

The f-117 has very bad aerodynamics and is realy hard to fly, making a model of it: and flying it manualy without any computer help is hard. Im basing this on absolutely nothing and is probably a bunch of crap, btw.

    • MelloTG

      MelloTG - 2 years ago

@VirtRampIndeed: iSomething like that looks very unstable unless you have a lot of air surface. A toy version is not near as aerodynamic as a paper plane!

@VirtRampI like: your full of bullcrap analysis. You should work for the Pentagon!!

Bad plane to use in the first place: The F-117 is not a very maneuverable plane to begin with so building a model that takes tight turns isn't a good idea from the start.

  • roney_puffz

    roney_puffz - 2 years ago

well: if somebody pays 30,000 for a model airplane then they probably have more than enough to replace it...

NO CHOICE: As a radio control expert i would say that after having this problem with the aerodinamics it was the best he could do instead of crashing over the expectators.

    • itzfuct

      itzfuct - 2 years ago

@huichocalifasthat's true.: he had to make a calculated decision with no good choices. He put his friends' needs over his plane and that's why he's a man.

    • tejasdude

      tejasdude - 2 years ago

@huichocalifasAs an expert at spotting nerds: The plane should have ditched into the crowd.

At $30k we should be using these: To go to war with.................just put some kid flying it thinking he's playing a video game........................WE WIN!!!!

    • itzfuct

      itzfuct - 2 years ago

@u4icknotice the scale in the beginning..: it's a good point, but in the beginning when it takes off you can see that it's not very large. Shorter than a man by a large factor.

    • puresj

      puresj - 2 years ago

@u4ickisnt the army tho: making autonomous airplanes that fly in squadrons and bomb targets? i think i saw that on futureweapons

WOW...: That was a horrible attempt at an emergency landing.....he shouldnt have shut off the engine and tried to bring it in on the runway...i guarentee i could've landed that with maybe just some broken retracts!

    • itzfuct

      itzfuct - 2 years ago

@MechanicalReamtotally!: I think you could have too. Your comment suggests you have more experience than they do. MechanicalReam, can you tell me how you'd do it?
