A scuba diver is feeding Giant Mora Eels near Phuket Thailand when one of the Eels mistakes his thumb for a sausage and bites it clear off. Later he had an operation to graft one of his big toes onto his hand. It looks weird but apparently works pretty well.

    We have all this technology which lets us stay submerged for long periods of time and you go in the ocean and fuck with a predator as if its your dog. Should of let him die, prove Darwin right. Also why the toe graph live without a thumb you monkey.

    My god, the best (worst?) part is, if you have the volume up, the sound the guy makes after the 'pop.' You can hear him scream into his mask... that's eerie.

    Yeah, not a smart idea to feed it flesh colored, thumb shaped, meat (for lack of a better word) tubes with your bare hands... I first went diving and saw a moray when I was 12. First thing I was told when I asked if I could touch it, "NO, Don't question me, NO! It will bite your f'n finger off in a heartbeat! Leave it ALONE." That was all I needed to know...

    This could have happened to me. Feeding the moray eels off Davis Reef in the Florida Keys. The eels came out swam with the divers who were foolishly feeding them. One bit into my dive glove narrowly missing my finger. I tried not to freak as one of them then circled around my head like a bandana. I think I had my hands in my pits then. Many folks were taking pictures of this and promised to send me some. I never received the pictures or fed the eels again :)

    I just love how these Jacques Cousteau cumbaya, we love animals-animals love us get their ass handed to them. They have no idea what they are dealing with. No-you are not a Wild-Animal Wizard and sure you get to tell cool stories abotu feeding eels, now you can tell your stories with one less thumb, and a TOE for a thumb!

    reminds me of people trying to feed the bears but trying to control the bears like your house dog and the bear, like the eel, says, nope, I'm takin' what I wants! At least the guy has a good attitude and brought some business to the hospital

    Ladies and gentlemen, "hear he hear he!!" If you look at 03:03 you can clearly see that the eel went for the bag and she STRUCK IT in THE HEAD! That eel got hit and wanted retribution!! I side with The Giant Mora Eel who was ATTACKED!!!! AT 3:03!!!

    ok the food is in the shape of a finger and looked like they ran out lol, so still he fondles the thing and well he didnt see it comeing and i hope for his sake that isnt the wacking hand . all in all i was routing for the eil :)
