This is by far one of the coolest videos I've come across in a long time. These guys in Copenhagen surf a wave created by a huge stick of dynamite thrown into the water. Absolutely amazing, that took a lot of nerve to pull off.

I agree it's cool however...: I strongly believe that it is a fake. Prior to the explosion there are reflections of the buildings and such in the background...as the plume of water shoots into the sky it does not have a reflection, the camera gets a little shaky and moves UP to watch the plume instead of staying down to watch the surfer, this (in my opinion) is where they make the transition (during the "smoke" and shakyness) to a shot with the city on top and a different shot of someone surfing a small w

  @pillageTHENburnthat blows...break shortened my post...: o editor myself I can say that that sort of thing can take some effort however it can be done well with some work. Also I would think (though I am not saying this is the gospel truth) that a stick of "dynamite" explodes too "fast" to create a wave like that at that depth.

  @pillageTHENburnpart 3: My experience with explosives and water (never dynamite but two-part plastic explosives) tells me that an explosion from dynamite would create a huge splash and send a lot of water into the air and it would generate a whole bunch of very small refractory waves, but not something big enough to surf on.

  @pillageTHENburnpart 4: To generate a wave with an explosion first the explosion needs to be HUGE in order to move that amount of water and second it needs to be quite deep; just for fun lets say that we _could_ make a wave with dynamite but it would have to be 15 feet deep... the "dynamite" in the video had barely 3 seconds to sink...

  @pillageTHENburnpart 5: Dynamite is much less dense than a rock so it would sink much slower, I doubt it could get 15' deep in 3 seconds. On top of that from my surfing experience I know that a wave will only break when the depth of the water becomes less than 1.3 times the waves height. I would guess that the wave in the video is 4-5 feet (and that's being generous). So if the wave is 4.5 feet tall that means that the water is 5.85 feet deep...not 15. I have much more ammo, but break does not like long posts. I welco

Very cool but...: I'm on the rope about this one being fake or not. Being a video editor I noticed a bunch of cuts and things that look like they were done in post. If this is real, damn, good job... bu if its fake, also good job making it look dope. Does anyone know 100% if this is for real or not?

Jmart714: Okay, I'm not still in grade school. I'm actually studying to be an art teacher, which maybe isn't as formidable a career as you posess. And I don't really like to take sides, either. But watched this video a a few times... and I don't doubt that some dumb asses actually did this!
