THAT'S ME!: I swear that's me. i did that two days before christmas 2005 with my dad. It I dislocated my thumb, my wrist, and my elbow, and had to go see a physical therapist. i had to have it wrapped up for like a month. the camera originally recorded no audio, so it's all dubbed in, but other than that, it's all real. Correction secretagentmn...: When a solid like frozen CO2, aka "dry ice", turns into a gas it's called sublimation. A solid sublimates into a gas. Liquids evaporate into gasses. You did go to school right, or are you from Alabama?

ADD WATER: alright, dry ice (frozen co2 aka carbon dioxide)is very unpredictable, however if you add water you will speed up the process to about 1-3 minutes. the room temp water is way warmer than the dry ice, causing it to evaporate faster. thus causing the entire explosion to go faster. oh yeah, in california you can be considered an arsonist if caught using dryice for explosives.

dry ice: I think this guy was very dumb. Dry ice in a bottle is unpredictable and can blow 15 minutes later. I've seen kids lose their entire hand! This stupid kid was lucky to have his fingers!!!

Toddy, are you that stupid.: It's called dry ice because it is so cold that it is dry to touch. It is not exploding water, it is the gas that this dry ice emitts inside the bottle. Since the gas has no where to go it creates such a force that it explodes.
