he was more than likely trying to alert the parents of the baby that he is in need and thus crying. He could be trying to soothe the baby but that is speculation. I think he was saying to put down that damn camera and tend to ya child fools.

@Elizabeth-Paige-Commander-424it is an alaskan mamlute, they dont usually howl often though. mine howlsw when it hears sirens in the distance(beyond the capability of the human ear)

@Elizabeth-Paige-Commander-424if you do decide to get one be sure of what you are getting into because they can be quite hard dogs to train and are high maintenance they must be walked every day otherwise they WILL destroy your house out of boredom

@asnofmine sings all the time, any time you howl at him or a siren goes by, he's howling, never ever barks though, just depends on the dog.

Maybe the dog is sounding the alarm instead? hehehe...when whoever is behind the camera gets there....the dog just goes back to lie down. Yeah, he was letting them know the baby was crying... :)

It doesn't look to me like the tail is curled. If not then it's not a Malamute, it's a Husky. I know because I own one. Malamutes are bigger with curled tails, Huskies are smaller with straight tails. Huskies also have either blue or brown eyes, while Malamutes are always brown. My Shasta 'talks' as well though. I had never owned a Huksy before her but now I'm hooked. She's the best dog! SO friendly, great with other people, other dogs, and kids. She's a lover, NOT a fighter! P.S. "Purebred Alaskan Malam

@sd061507utes and Siberian Huskies are not wolves, or part-wolves, were not bred from wolves, and these breeds were not developed by breeding to wolves anytime recently (that is a separate animal called a wolf-dog). Based on studies by Dr. Robert Wayne at UC Berkeley, sled dogs are no more closely related to wolves than Chihuahuas. There is very little genetic difference between any dog and any wolf, coyote, or jackal, etc., so little, in fact, that genetic tests cannot tell how much wolf is in deliberately bred wol

SORRY TO TELL YOU, BUT THIS DOG COMES FROM THE WOLF FAMILY! FOR YOUR INFORMATION. IT'S AN ALASKAN MALAMUTE. I SHOULD KNOW I LIVED IN ALASKA PART OF MY LIFE. THEY ARE A BEAUTIFUL AND WONDEROUS DOG. I DON'T THINK I'M WRONG. BUT YOU CAN LOOK IT UP.

That dog looks like a wolf. Sounds like one, too. I'd be afraid to let it around a baby.

@mantiXcoreIt's a Siberian Husky. My sister has three and they've all been great around children. They are very protective and loving.
