This is the MV Explorer, not the Voyager. It's the ship used for the Semester at Sea program.

Dumbass captain didn't do a cursory check of the weather? I'm sure there are thousands of people blowing chow in there.

No hurricane, helicopters can't fly in hurricanes. Pressure and wind don't allow it. Just a storm

    • FrankLee772

      FrankLee772 - 3 years ago

@Waddle13Are you serious? Are hurricanes so different that they have some sort of anti-helicopter effect? Maybe in the higher categories the winds are too high, or if you're right in the eye, but otherwise it's just organized wind. I'm pretty sure I've seen coast guard rescue helicopters out in hurricanes.

    • mecka1

      mecka1 - 3 years ago

      @Waddle13its called a cyclone

@Waddle13It's called in cyclone in your area :)

    • dachimp

      dachimp - 2 years ago

@Waddle13FrankLee772 you totally frickin' fail moron. You've obviously never been through a hurricane (I have). Cost guard does NOT fly in Hurricanes, no choppers do. If you see heli hurricane footage they are ABOVE the hurricane, and that's rarely something that is likely. Get your facts straight, genius. Organized wind...lol.

@pilgrim55It's the same as a hurricane. That ship looks like it's broken down in a hurricane.

The weather started getting rough,: the tiny ship was tossed, if not for the courage of the fearless crew, the minnow would be lost

power outage: The cruise ship had a power outage, and that's why it's rocking like hell. As soon as it regained engine power it settled.

    • NewDownTown

      NewDownTown - 3 years ago

@kanotistenthanks, we all needed your help there

    • FrankLee772

      FrankLee772 - 3 years ago

@kanotistenUnlikely given that it is still more or less pointed into the wind. Without power it would have turned completely broadside. Plus you can see the forward progress as the waves go by and the wake from the engines. Even with power, those waves weigh much more than the boat!
