Its obvious that the winds created by a plane would have to be pretty strong. But its amazing to watch what those winds do to a car passing close behind one of them.

FAKE: he obviously pressed the fly to the side button in the car...

Eh - Probably not fake: Pulling a gutted 2CV from a junkyard would probably be cheaper than building a model. Since they start at around 1200 lbs curb weight, you could easily be looking at a shell of a car weighing under half a ton. Probably wouldn't be too hard to blow away on a windy day, let along from jet exhaust. Some things are more difficult and expensive to fake than they would be to actually do. Plus, that appears to be one of the hosts of Top Gear, Richard Hammond. Top Gear has a nice big b

@Rick_James_Bitchdude: think its engines are putting out 58,000 lbs of thrust ea that car wayed no more than 1200 clbs 4 engines = 238,000 of thrust meaning that given the high profile and realtively high surfaces area to weight ratio the car was no wear near stable enof to drive thru a broadside duh

If you think about it...: The plane has got to be thrusting close to it's own weight in air to lift. I'm pretty sure that's enough to tear apart or throw almost any vehicle.

  • nano404

Umm...: Depending on the model, each 747 engine produces AT LEAST 46,500 lbs of thrust, that is, the 747-100 with Pratt and Whitney engines. Surprising that the car is damaged? no, Just nice to watch :) Just noticed he said 58,000 lbs of thrust, hehe, that car is like crushed paper now

Perhaps i can shed some truth.....: I've worked on a runway for over 6yrs, part in the military and now public airports, i HAVE TO watch videos like this ALL THE FUCKING TIME for training purposes. Most videos i see are with larger vehicles or even trucks.......does it really surprise you that a jet is that powerful? Mythbusters is a fun show to watch, but it's television....they can't accuratly reenact half of the "myths" that they claim to bust

its light yes...: it might be light but it was ripped apart before it started tumbling on the ground. but i would like to see what it could do to something a little heavier.
