@MichaelScarnThis is a Trekkie convention cracked dildo. I'll have Bones take out your brain tumor the old fashioned way, with a red hot Kamp King.

in order to avoid that: he should of gone faster simple physics in inertia the translation velocity will off set the force vector pushing him over ...shame all truck driver dont have engineering degrees like me

    • TheTexasTrucker

      TheTexasTrucker - 3 years ago

@thatguy1234Better re-think that degree: While in theory things work great, they dont work so well in practice. Very big broad surface...the wind gusts are just as big as far as the area they cover. Besides, most trucks are governed around 65 MPH. For wind to knock over a loaded truck they have to be gusts of over 50mph. It isnt as easy as you think to outrun the wind. We dont know higher level physics just like you dont know all the aspects of driving an 18 wheeler.

@thatguy1234Hey Einstein, The force vector is perpendicular to the momentum, ergo velocity = more damage if the truck flips.

      HairClog - 2 years ago

@thatguy1234When/if he felt it going over he should have turned in the direction it was falling. Also if he had the room he should have zig zagged his way along the road so the wind wasn't hitting the trailer dead on the entire time. Or put training wheels on his trailer :)

Why is it: That every goddamn video on this site has a 5 minute lead in where nothing happens and then cuts off immediately after or even before the good part?

this is nothing.: i was behind a full cattle truck when it rolled going around a turn too fast. talk about a mess.

    • solder955

      solder955 - 3 years ago

@mothafuckatskinyes that would be a mess but...: what you fail to realize is that would be operator error where as this was WIND flipping several tons of truck on its side. apples and oranges

...: why would u try to cross bridge when u see 1 truck lying on the side anyway?

    • TheTexasTrucker

      TheTexasTrucker - 3 years ago

@Belophanthere are a myriad of reasons.: Lets start with the most obvious. The road is wet and not all truckers are capable drivers. So the second driver could have chalked it up to that first driver being inexperienced. Another reason may have been a curve in the road just before getting on the bridge. He may not have actually seen the truck before crossing. At which point he has no choice but to continue as stopping ON the bridge is not only illegal (blocking travel lanes) but it also ensures that his truck will

if he was smart: he woulda made a sharp left to cut down on the side wind resistance... i'm pretty sure you can tell when your truck starts to lift off the ground...

    • mdo1788

      mdo1788 - 2 years ago

@Dan_Jayyes: im sure you wouldve reacted perfectly in that situation. Do us a favor and STFU.

    • TheTexasTrucker

      TheTexasTrucker - 3 years ago

@Dan_JayNo dan...: that would NOT have worked. It would prevent the tractor (truck itself) from tipping over, yes...but the trailer would still be at least half knocked over. That maneuver could possibly cause more damage to the tractor and trailer than just tipping over would.

it only takes: It only takes a cross wind of about 70mph to roll a full semi trailer (depending on what they are hauling as well). This trailer doesn't appear to be a full size semi either. It's more like a moving van size.
