yep, definitely removed the snakes fangs. pretty routine. My buddy is from India and says it is common practice to impress the tourist.

Dont worry everybody, it looks crazy for most of us. I hv been india and saw similar "live video" in my eyes. The snake's fangs and poison gland have been removed.. That's why that baby didn't cry at all.

I feel bad for the cobra (whose fangs are most likely gone as this is what idiots in places like India do). I wish it would have been able to deliver its venom to the kid - one less moron in the world tomorrow. Funny how all the snake "experts" chime in... "he's just "thumping" the kid" - more morons that should have had lethal snake bites themselves.

This is horrible. Regardless of fangs/venom gland removed or not, the cobra could still strangle the child. These parents should be reported and this video should have never been uploaded or even taken. This video is not funny, it is disturbing to know there are sick people in this world that find humor out of putting a child in danger.

the snake my have it's fangs removed but still this is teaching the kid to play with snakes without fangs or not and maybe someday the kid will get bit.

Cobras don't generally have fangs like that of a viper, so they have to actually latch on to a piece of skin in order to inject their venom. However, I can bet that they had this snake's venom gland removed. Combine that with the fact that cobras are known to be extremely sluggish in captivity that snake was merely thumping the child on the head rather than "striking".

AdrienneRattazzi, you cant blame all other people in other countries for individuals actions. Maybe you should keep your racism to yourself. As for this video I hope the parents responsible were dealt with by the relevant authorities, this is discusting behaviour. The poor child needs to go live with people that would love and cherish her/him.
