grade A cop work. I hate seeing cops that shoot one or two rounds at a suspect. This guy emptied his magazine at least once. Training saved this officer. And props on the 3 rounds that hit him, im sure he just spray and prayed. Again, training.

Hey Break. He fired "over 40 rounds." Not hundreds. And for what it's worth an AK47 is fully automatic. That was rifle was not. More than likely a civilian import variant (AKM, AKS, etc.)

  @3rd_ManNo, you can get AK47s in semi-automatic . The other variants such as the AKS-74U are also normally fully automatic weapons as well but you can aquire all variants in semi-automatic if u look for them. They manufacture semi-auto versions of each kind speratly for civilian use.

He fired 40 rounds. Far from the "hundreds" as it says in the title. Still scary as hell for the cop though. To bad the gunmen lived.

  @kse57What he said...: Exactly-One bullet is as bad as hundreds but don't try to stretch it and make it sound worse than it already is. Before the announcer even said "more than 40" I was thinking, there's no way that's hundreds-especially since they showed 2 magazines taped together which probably only hold 30 rounds each. Now if you count the 9mm magazines they showed (2 or 3) then you may have a total of over 100 rounds throughout the exchange but not from the AK.

For everyone who thinks cops are scum,: they had every opportunity to just waste this piece of crap at the end and noone would have known the difference. They showed great restraint by not opening up on him when he was down. I don't think I would have been able to hold back like that. That's why they are doing the job and I'm just sitting here typing.

Poor shooting and a semi-automatic AK: From the sound of the AK, I'd say it has to be a semi-automatic. What is stunning about all this, is how could they shoot that much without nobody getting killed.

  @KommentaattoriYou'd be surprised: how tough it is to hit anything with a rifle, even WITH training, especially when you're all jacked up. Heard a story once about a cop and a bad dude on a balcony who missed each other with full pistols.

  @KommentaattoriNot an AK: Probably a WASR-10 or something like it. A civilian version of an AK, semi-auto only. No select fire except fire and safe. It's not that hard to hit something with a rifle- just point and shoot. The rifle will naturally point towards where you're looking. It also seemed like the guy with the rifle was aiming for the driver's seat- there was quite a few bullet holes in the windshield there.
