I watched this trick and even slowed down the video and couldnt catch how he did this. There are no splices in the clip. I am pretty sure there were never more than 3 cards. I give up, any help.

Also, to explain my theory, he makes a mistake at 0:42 and doesn't pull both cards properly and has to align them again with his thumb at the top. It's very subtle.

Hey guys. There's no soap, no markers, no magic erasers etc. It's a simple double flip. Right at the beginning there's a double flip. The "other" card is actually on the top but he flips two cards showing the "this" card in the middle, flip them back and places the "other" card on the table leaving the "this" card on the top with the "that" card on the bottom. That explains that part. The then moves two cards to the bottom but you can't see it due to the camera angle so when he shows you the bottom card it'

ok not a magician but pretty observent. From what i see after a review of this video a dozen times is that he uses only 3 cards. On 1 of the "THIS" cards he erases the letter "S" by rubbing it off with his finger.( leaving THI which is most of the word O'THE'R) Notice how he has a mysterious black ring (prop) which most likeley has a marker felt inside of it. Notice how he spins the deck creating the "O" then he spins it adding the dashes for the "E" and drawing an "R" before the prestige. Probably coun

Ugh.. it's a classic 3 card monte with a sleight variation but still consisting of double lifts. He doesn't show you the 3rd card until the end, that's all.

Yeah, but what about the card?

  • eojlooc

    eojlooc - 2 years ago

At 0:09 you can see the first sleight. He pulls the middle card and immediatley throws it down, then pulls the "that" card, then shows the "this" card again. He never shows you the Other card til the end. David Blaine does a good variation of this, shows you ace of spades and ace of clubs, gives the person one and says to guess which will be on top when he "switches" the cards. You guess, then he does his little thing where he pretends to switch them really fast, gives you both, and they're ace of hea

As a magicain, we call this trick the 3 card monte. Of coarse this is a variation, but it is still a great trick. Look up 3 card monte on youTube to see how its done.

Simple, if he can throw down 3 cards in the beginning and prove there was a "THIS" a "THAT" and a "THIS", we never think about an "OTHER". He throws down 1 of each card (THIS THAT OTHER) and sleight of hands our asses off. He never flips more than 1 card at a time, and can flip any of the 3 because he knows which card is where because of practice. .on gniog si lleh eht tahw wonk uoy s'tel reven dnah fo thgiesl ,rebmemeR

sorry made one mistake let me re write it after watching it several times I figured it out... i got me because of the first slight on hand but after you figure it out you can follow along, the first time he shoes "this card" he's got two cards in his hand. so the stack goes "other" "this" "that" so in his hand he shows "this" and has "other" (not that*** being the mistake i made in my first post) underneath it, so when he discards the top card (the one we think is "this" card) its actually "other" card. t
