Millions of Moscow residents observed a unique cloud formation yesterday. Scientists from the city’s weather forecast service were quoted saying their was nothing special about the formation and it was just an 'optical effect'. Move along now.

    That's earth's anus, which is squeezed tight while trying to expel the ozone from the upper atmosphere. It's a natural phenomenon to expel foreign gas that occurs once every 2 million years.

    It's known as a "hole punch cloud" they occur in a layer of super-cooled altostratus (super-cooled = the temperature is negative but the water is still liquid). when a aircraft passes through the deck while climbing or descending the water has a nucleation site on the microscopic particles in the jet exhaust. it is now energetically favorable for the water to freeze, this frozen water then falls out of the cloud deck as the ice crystals contain more water than the water droplets and are hence heavier.....

    A concave cloud depression like that happens from a thermal updraft.. but that high in the stratosphere? That had to be one hell of an energy source to send that much air upward like that. Optical effect my muscular buttocks....

      @wind78this might be so too, they were talking about re-testing the chemical they are gona release into the atmosphere to block out some of the harmful UV rays. Or it's a space ship, OR..it is something other than a natural occurance
