how stupid are you people? "iphones are cheaper" ect... this was 1989, cell phones were unheard of. technology advances. nothing is ever the best it will ever be the first time threw. this was a break-threw for people. stop being retarded...

The best part is they just cut those phones off from the network a year ago. Apparently with the new cell towers they could get service anywhere thats was better than modern phones. Even out in a field 500 miles from the nearest tower.

  @Weeew They couldn't go even close to 500 miles, it just doesn't work that way. However they were a lot more powerful than today's phones and they were analog which could pick up a signal better than digital. I had a dual mode phone on Sprint and I could always get an analog signal in 4 stories deep parking garages, but never digital.

Not a bad price considering. Phones these days cost just as much. At least phones back then could make and receive calls perfectly, and didn't lock up unlike some Apple products of today.
