These guys attach a CD to the end of a dremel and spin it at 3500 RPM. The speed is so intense for the CD that it literally explodes into hundreds of pieces.

    Dumb asses: They did this on myth busters 35k rpm was breaking CD's consistantly. There have been reports of 52x drives exploding CD's but very rare. They interviewed a few CD and Drive makers they said this has happend inside people computer drives. Awesome experment but as we all saw in myth buster very dangerous

      @DrewskyAit happened to me: and i took all the little pieces out of my drive and took them to the original store and they were like pfft wtf did u do, and they wouldnt believe me so they didnt refund it, so i guess its pretty rare

    Fake: They had to have weakened the CD first. 52x CD drives spin CD's at nearly 30,000 RPM.

    Weak CD: I just tried this with my dremel and cranked it up to 20,000 rpm, my cd didn't break, they must have attatched the CD poorly or else the CD just sucked, boring video, unlikely unless the CD was tampered with.

    Ever had one explode in your CDRom: I had one explode in my CDRom once....a piece even flew out of the Rom and hit me in the face...that was fucked up.
