It was a pre-emptive strike. That dog's puppy was going to become the leader of the dog resistance and rise up against cats everywhere. When it traveled to that time and location, it wasn't informed that the dog would be protected by several armed (with shoes) bodyguards, and was forced to reluctantly abort its mission.

i used to have a cat that would chase dogs, one time when a german shepard attacked another cat in our family, he attacked the dog so firecely the dog had to be put to sleep
