Huge Camel Spider

The camel spider is a horrifying beast that lives in the Middle East. In this video, some brave person captures the spider eating an entire lizard without blinking an eye. In truth, the camel arachnid can't really do any harm to humans, but I'm not taking any chances!

Warning: You might just throw up your lunch while watching this video of a camel spider munch on his! There's no need to make another installment of Alien because this simply can't be topped. This ginormous eight legged creature has severed this poor lizard's head and is sipping on the innards of his neck. I've heard this arachnid species hails from the Middle East, but I'm afraid if I research more about the camel spider, I'll find out they actually live in my backyard. The camel spider has been the source of a lot of urban legends but from the looks of this video, there's good reason!

Leffybigguns: No, there found in the southwest and mexico to....just not the big ass ones u see in Iraq. And there bite(ours at least) may not have venom, but it does have a numbing agent in it. Like I said, I thought that a cactus needle had rubbed into me...not excatly a pleasant feel to begin with and when I looked down at my leg, there it was just munching away. 50 species of them are on our continent.http: //www.badspiderbites.com/camel

We have them here in the southwest to: I got chewed on by one and I didnt even know it....thought it was just some catus needle that "rubbed" on me until I looked down...next day there was some kind of "core" or something that I had to pop out...kinda like a hard boil where it had been chewing on. Ours dont get as big as the ones in Iraq, at least the ones I've seen.

@FearAffectWell that's interesting...: Since camel spiders don't have venom (they bite and chew with their jaws, if you had been bitten you would know immediately), they're naturally averse to human contact, and usually only reach about 5-6 inches in diameter...Oh yeah, and they're only found in Asia.

@FearAffectYes it is interesting..: Since they are found in "most" desert climates including the United States. Thou shalt not speak before thou knows WTF thou is talking about- Google it and learn.. FEAR: I dunno know about that "core" though. However, Lefty was correct about the old bite and chew though. Maybe you were bit by an Asian Apple?

@FearAffectHuh?: Lefty I don't know who told you they are only in Asia. How would you explain us finding them in Iraq. And now Im in New Mexico and I've found three here.

..: my friend was stationed in iraq and he was telling me how him and his buddys would take air cans(i.e.the kind you use to clean your computer), and freeze them lol. Then they would just shoot them and they would explode lmao.

Ok, let me get this straight...: Instead of picking up a stick or possibly a gun they prolly had wrapped around their shoulders. They film it. I guess all that sand must be cloging up the part of their brain which they use to think logically.

yeah: camel spiders...theres lots of myths about them, the only one of which is true is that they can get as big as a dinner plate/frisbee, although thats pretty rare. the DO NOT have an anesthetic venom, nor ANY venom for that matter, they cant run 30mph (only about 10), they dont jump, and they rarely attack/prey upon things much larger than themselves (as theyve been rumored to do to camels and humans)

@medow006Everybody knows they don't hunt humans or camels: They are just infamous for BITING humans and camels, which can cause massive damage to skin and muscle
