sorry to say but: the world trade centers were designed to take a lot, including a plane, but the way the main supports were set up and the angle the planes hit, the supports were weakend, and the steel melting fire didnt help. the buildings did stand for about 10 mins, and even if they hadve stayed standing, they would have had to be taken down, with explosives so its kinda a good thing they fell, cuz it was a very clean fall. This bridge is doin its job perfectly, as u can see, its almost still at the

      canadianbuzzon - 2 years ago

@freerider77so why was the steel melting?: i heard some physics prof at harvard or sumin sayin that there was no way the fire could of got that hot with out the US government strategically placing some chemicals so they could eventually place the blame of terroists and go steal oil from iraq?

@freerider77US government strategically placing some chemicals?: You Sir, should be shot, so that decent society need not further suffer your inadequacies.

@freerider77were u born this stupid: pr did u continuously loose brain cells since birth wth stells melting temp is like 900-1600 degrees jet fuel burns much hotter than 2000 degrees if a prof at harvard said that then hes obviously a left wing idiot no i dont prefer one party over the other but man ur beyond that

Idiots: Bridges are designed to bend and warp, its common knowledge, if it were rigid the thing wouls snap like a twig under that kind of pressure. I bet that most of you think its weird or faulty engineering that skyscrapers also swat in heavy wind aqnd earthquakes

    • Fixer808

      Fixer808 - 2 years ago

@Currie65True, but at the same time: you don't want it to bend too much, as in the Tacoma Narrows bridge.

Not Tacoma Narrows, streetlamp did not make it: At least the bridge didn't collapse under 30 mile-per-hour winds like the Tacoma Narrows Bridge in Washington State. One streetlight was seen toppling over in the video.

Oh Yeah..It is designed to withstand earthquake: Just like the World Trade Center twin tower is designed to withstand airplane collision.........No kidding guys.

    • Fallafal

      Fallafal - 2 years ago

@darryll23idiot: duh, its not like bridges are made for that purpose, but if it didn't wiggle, it would fall down right away. even skyscrapers wiggle constantly, even when they arent in earthquakes. on some sky scrapers, the top floor is constantly moving up to ten feet back and forth.

DUDE!: You think that is something, I was on the golden gate bridge during an earthquake. I almost pissed my pants. THAT IS A FLEXIBLE BRIDGE!
