A boat tries to fit under a bridge but misses by about 30 feet. The good news is if he tried again the boat would make it, the bad news is 2 hours later it sank.

This Happened: Right by my house, the bridge operator had been drinkin and takin pills and he lowered the bridge early causing it to come down on the boat

The captain of the ship wasn't at fault: It was the bridge operator, who lowered the bridge too soon, that caused the accident. Jeesh - your already on the internets; it would only take 2 seconds to Google it.

Haha: I took a boating class and my instructor would always say if ur boat is 30 feet tall and u go under a bridge that is 25 feet, your boat will be 25 feet tall

if anything, it looks like: it would have been the fault of the controller of the bridge. though why the hell he'd lower the bridge when a ship was coming, i'd like to know. A ship like that, you cant put on the brakes and stop quickly, it would have been up, but it started to go down, and they didnt have time to stop.

The Boat didn't sink: This happened on the Welland Canal near Allanberg Ontario, The bridge was remotely controled and an "error" happened (somebody was napping) the boat came to rest against the bank and the local fire Dept. put out the fire. The boat was tugged through the Canal to Port Weller to bang out the dents
