  @dewey916CAn't recall but I think the reason is is that it is college ball which you don't need to touch the player. Again not certain as I am not a fan of the sport myself.

  @dewey916fizbanic is correct. Once you're down, you're down. NFL rules are different from high school and college. In the NFL, you can get up and continue running if no opponent has touched you.

  @Loop_TroopWhat's Soccer? Do you mean REAL football? It's only Americans that play American Football, that's why it's called American Football. In the global scale of thing AF is tiny compaired to the game you call Soccer. And the goalkeeper catches the ball a lot (or at-least he's supposed to).

Anyone notice that the receiver never got touched by the defense? I saw that happen in a pro game once. The defenders came jogging up like they were cool or something. They were standing on each side of the receiver, who was on the ground, and the receiver popped up and started running. The stoopid defense guys just looked at each other.

All wrong, the greatest catch ever was in an 1979 NFL playoff game, San Diego v. Huston, the game where both Pastorini and Earl Campbell were hurt, but Houston upset Air Coryell in a fabulous game.
