It's notoriously hard to bench press twice your body weight. As this guy finds out, it's much easier to just lift the bar.

hahaha, what made him think he could even do it? The most I've done 315 for is 11 reps. Couldn't seem to get it for that 12th rep. Than again I never had someone touch the bar either :)

Nice job, spotter. What a douche bag! The idea a of a spotter is to help those that obviously are stuck...don't let someone blow a nut trying to push the weight. He should have been helping this idiot that obviously can't bench 315. And btw, keep your feet on the bench and don't cheat. Arching your back so high a car could drive underneath is not a legal bench.

@Elite_92He would have killed himself? Nice to see that people exist who have never been into a gym all their life. The spotter would easily have lifted it back up if there were locks on, not much strenght is needed to help him lift it back up. Tho, no1 in their right mind uses locks when benchpressing anyhow, most have better techniques than this douche.
@Elite_92Actually the point of the weights being able to fall off is to avoid being pinned under them. If you get stuck, you just shift your weight and the weights fall off. Better than suffocating under too much weight.
