    was the runner called safe? if not he deserved it not for blocking the plate but for the excessive force used and the extra throwing his helmet onto the runner who was simply doing what the coach had instructed him to do. If this was me and my friends have fun breaking up the brawl the catcher would have his ass beat more than once.

     That catcher was a B*tch ! He has all the equipment on, he's blocking the plate and then he's pissed when the runner, who has no equipment on (not even a helmet) runs in to him. Catcher throws his mask/helmet at the runner who's on the ground. The catcher defintely deserved an ass-beating!

    Let us not forget that they are still just baseball players and not athletes and could do each other no real harm. There should have been no ejections, they should have patted the ladies on their backsides and let them continue playing girl sports.

    That is pretty much the way fights in Baseball and Basketball are, lot of slapping but not much else. If you want to see fighting in sports you gotta watch Hockey or Lacrosse (NLL).

      @legacy27completely wrong knox. When you play a sport with boards (the walls around the ice/field), you can't allow revenge hits. Instead, you have to allow fighting to happen (call it preventive war) or else there would be so many broken necks from dirty hits. I don't watch NLL, but i do watch a lot of baseball, basketball and hockey. In hockey, the brawls don't ever get too bad cuz you cant get a really good punch in on skates. Also, the fight ends when one guy goes to the ground. There are legitimate brawls ever
