When he says the account: has been connected for 72 hours or whatever it was, this only meant that his router was in sync, bet he didnt even check the usage on the account. If this was in the UK any ways they would have to issue you with a MAC code in 5 working days of you could report the issue to Ofcom

.: At the part where he said "May I speak now," I would say, specifically. "Yes, go ahead" then sit there with the phone to my head and when he was done said. "Ok, I'm back. Have you canceled my account yet?"

Cancelling ISP nighmare too...: I had a desktop given to me by former b/f. It had some ISP I think it was netzero or something like that. I broke up with him, but signed up with the same ISP, then my boss gave me a laptop, and a DSL Bellsouth connection. I no longer neeeded the cheapo ISP. I tried to cancel but they wouldn't, they said they woud keep charging me $10 a month even if I did not use. I told them the PC crapped out and I did not needed, but to no avail. I ended up just cancelling my credi card

ha ha: Yeah and the aol is still charging my mom and we cancelled like two months ago. so anyone know what I can do? suggestions please let me know thanks!

    • venni

      venni - 2 years ago

@tallsmartbeautysuggestion for AOL cancel: If it was linked to a credit card, tell your mom to call it in as lost. Then she'll get a new one with a new #, AOL won't be able to charge (only if is not a debit)... I have a paypal acct, and the only bills linked to it are my GYM membership. If I ever have to give my card for auto debits, I use that one.

I worked there: Hey I just thought I would comment on this one because I was an AOL employee for about a year and a half at the Ogden, UT center. This guy actually worked at the Ogden site. AOL trains every employee to do this basic procedure 1. Greet and verify the account 2. ask what was causing to cancel 3. discover things about the person, ask lots of questions 4. pitch value about aol pertaining to what they gave you info on 5. go into an offer 6. rebuttel 7. pitch yet another offer 8. re

this guy is a butthole.: I'd tell him to be quiet, and give me his supervisor. if you go high enough up the tree, you'll get the head bannana

    • pattipussy

      pattipussy - 2 years ago

@crapshovelNever!: When i cancelled my AOL the guy asked me why i was so narrow-minded. The conversation went pretty much the same way. Asking for a supervisor wouldn't have changed anything. They are trained to jerk-offs.

#: We had AOL in the mid-90s. One day i asked my dad why we got rid of it and the only thing he remembered was how much of a giant bitch it was to cancel. Looks like AOHell hasnt changed a bit in the past decade.

I never had the 'luxury' of: AOL. But I've used it on friends computers. Giant pain in the ass. Even their messenger sucks.
