A Bird Vs A Plane

An F-14 plane hits a bird in mid-flight. (looking forward to the 1500 emails that tell me exactly what type, model, year, and probably how much fuel was still in the tank cause God knows there is no chance in hell this can any longer be an F-14). Now do you think there was any chance the pilot thought he would lose this battle before the collission. I am sure the bird had a rough day too but it did indeed take down the plane.
