Might have been worth watching if the footage wasn't from the 80's
Helldarwinsfear - 11 months ago
they couldve used a version of moonlight sonata that had at least an ounce of feeling in it.

what kind of potato was this fake shit filmed with?

Every video I see an ad. The same one all the time too. Fuck you Break!
Sharticus - 11 months ago
This is dumb. Science is for nerds. Break's comment section is for the really clever people, and I mean, 20 years at the University of Life sort of people. Also, didn't God create the Earth and all of this? This is clearly black magic. I am a break commenter.

DUR! what no color.. and I am suppose to be the same race you are yet you can't figure this shit out.. No wonder people think Nasa doesn't do anything because they don't realize what it really takes to even do a simple think like send a photo.
Halfdozengp - 12 months ago
@Jay199006 Ok I was kind of with you until you said race...you mean species? How do you know someones race without seeing a picture of them? We can probably assume they are human, being that they can type and own a computer, but come on man. If you're going to mock someone else's intelligence, try and portray some yourself.
Guvment - 11 months ago
@ it would take a lot longer to receive color images because of the file size.
@Jay199006 This is exactly the sort of stuff I expected... I would wholeheartedly support a program solely designed to tear the skin of people like you so you infect yourself to death.
nicholasmurdock - 12 months ago
It's black and white because it is MILLIONS of miles away from earth. Think of being able to transmit less than a 28.8k modem across the solar system. Of course they could have put in a color camera, they just would have gotten 1/5 of the data. Use your brains, I guess that is asking a lot for most of you, my bad.
VatTas - 11 months ago
@nicholasmurdock Actually, they have "color" camera on board. It's the same camera with three different color filters. You take picture with one filter, then the same picture with second filter and third. Then you combine three BW pictures to get a color one. That actually what you digital camera does, except with single exposure. BTW, color images are not interesting from scientific perspective. And they spend hundreds of millions dollars not to get you pretty pictures.

@ c'mon don't you read all these comments. it IS a lot to ask. :). lol
Rygads - 12 months ago
At about 4:00, you can see a large object passing along the inside of one of the outer rings. If you look closely, you can see debris from the ring gravitating towards the object. This isn't creepy at all, it's super interesting.
dwarfedgiant - 12 months ago
Very impressive if you actually stop and consider what you have just seen. An achievement on so many levels.
Syphon88 - 12 months ago
is it just me or did the music sound like the 2 girls 1 cup theme.
Jumbiez420 - 12 months ago
@Syphon88 Ever heard of the Moonlight Sonata?......
mystery05 - 11 months ago
@ Beethoven Moonlight Sonata 1st Movement. Sorry bro, it's not Justin Bieber.
@Jumbiez420 That's like asking a bunny rabbit if it knows algebra.
TrueNorthReptiles - 12 months ago
Ok, let me get this straight. You can send a space craft to Saturn and spend billions of taxpayer dollars to get it there, but you can't spring for a decent color camera to take pictures of the planet?
@TrueNorthReptiles First of all taking pictures is just a bonus, and there are many more important objectives in this type of mission. Second they transmit the picture back via radio, so the less information, the better. Third I can't believe how much stupid there is on Break. I hope the Apocalypse does happen in 2012, and most of you are wiped out. We need to hit the restart button.
@ I'm sure a few hundred years ago people were saying, "You can send an explorer to circumnavigate the globe but you can't fight the plague?"
@Halfdozengp Thank you, do your research a little before commenting.. well not even research its just common sense.. Do you even have an idea how old the Cassini probe is? Oh yeah and do you know how long it takes for information to travel? It's not the internet where you upload a picture to facebook it takes a long time for that information to even hit earth dumbass.
@Jay199006 Another good point. Pretty sure it was launched in 1997. If you have payed attention in the last 15 years, technology has advanced a little bit since Cassini left Earth. It's not like we can send an astronaut up to the vessel and update it.

What, they didn't have colour tv 8 years ago at Nasa?
GUNBEHINDTHESUN - 12 months ago
Cool! This spacecraft is very old that's why it's black and white. Give us more but in color, in 3D and in ultra high definition.
