This is normal, it happens all the time. Aircraft were designed to transmit the lightning through them.

The worst part is, the airline tacked on an additional 25$ fee for the lightning strike.. Stating it was the Act of God tax...

why was anyone filming a plane tacking of anyway in the first place?

    • toby172631

      toby172631 - 3 years ago

@cargomanIt is taking off dumb ass not "taking". They film it so if it blows up or something happened they can look at the tape andfigure out where the explosion occured or if a engine blows out.

    • roscobadjohny

      roscobadjohny - 3 years ago

@eyrikurThey can't time travel cause their vehicles was not a DeLorean and they were not travelling at 88mph. Thw plutonium is no more a problem cause the latest time engine required only garbage to run.

if the lighting hit the plane, how did the bolt go all the way through??

    • TonyEspo81

      TonyEspo81 - 3 years ago

@nickybplanes are designed to allow the current to flow through the body of the plane without causing pain to passegeners or damgage the plane, plus the plane is not grounded.

    • newspeak

      newspeak - 3 years ago

@nickybi was on a plane that was hit with lightning -- you don't feel anything, just a quick flash of light. tonyespo's right on -- see how it hit the front of the plane and exited out the back. planes have a mechanism to attract lightning in the front and send it out from the back. when our plane was hit, the pilot made an announcement and explained that.

@Dustarit probably happened so quickly, no one noticed that the lightning acutally hit the plane. so use ur brain before making retarded comments and try to make ppl laugh. Because they wont be laughin at ur comment, but laughing at you.

what doesn't make sense is how someone just happened to be taping a routine plane take off.

    • TheMadHobo

      TheMadHobo - 3 years ago

@Assman10They have a(or several) camera in the airport tower, the camera automatically follows the planes, they film every landing and takeoff.

    • FrankLee772

      FrankLee772 - 3 years ago

@Assman10or perhaps they were at the airport saying goodbye to their lover? Hmmm, maybe, do you think that's possible?

@MelloTGyou probably think those inside the plane got shocked as well? Electricity follows the way of least resistance, it only travels through the outer aluminium layer of the plane.
