Saturday, September 12th, Sooke Coastal Explorations based in Sooke, BC went out for a bird watching tour to Swiftsure Bank, located about 20 miles off-shore from Port Renfrew on Vancouver Island. Leaving Sooke at 5:30am, it took us a couple of hours to reach our destination, but not until we stopped at least half a dozen times in the Juan de Fuca strait to watch various sea birds on the water and flying around.
