Just after leaving Charlies Angels in 1977, Farrah Fawcett-Majors began filming what would be her feature starring debut in the 1978 romantic/comedy/mystery Somebody Killed Her Husband, co starring Jeff Bridges. She proved her worth as a big screen actress, but strangely, the film failed at the box office. She went on to star in Sunburn and Saturn 3, but all three films failed to make her a big screen star. Next, she appeared in a small role opposite Burt Reynolds and the late Dom Deluise in the big hit, The Cannonball Run . Several years later, she won accolades for her performances in the televison films Murder in Texas, and The Burning Bed. She then returned to the big screen in Extremities, and though that film also did not set box office records, she was finally respected for her work as a serious actress.
