Man, oh MAN did the gloves come off today. Joy Blowhard was out (I think intentionally), but when the subject of "negative campaigning" came up (directly in relation to Sarah invoking William Ayers this weekend), the gloves came OFF and the fight was on. And even though Elisabeth made teriffic salient points, in the end she was shut down by Whoopi, Barbara & Sherry. Shame on them. Come on, Eliisabeth... leave there and go to Fox. They will never let you have your own voice, and today it was completely obvious. Their hatred for everything McCain and Palin is vitriolic to toxic proportions. If anybody in the McCain campaign had had previous relationshiops with ANYONE in the Weather Underground, there would be a bloodletting like never before seen. What a bunch of windbag hypocrites.

In this week’s episode of The Cleaner on A&E, an upscale woman named Gail seeks Williams help in retrieving her drug addicted son from jail in the Inland Empire. Swenton helps get Gails son, Travis, released from jail, but they soon discover Travis is a long way from being ready to change his life. While trying to bring Travis back to Los Angeles with them, they meet a 13-year old boy who is running drugs for a powerful dealer. The boy weighs on Williams conscience and William must decide if there is a way to save him, or if their trip to the Inland Empire is a total wash. Yesterday on the View, Bill Maher was on to promote his new movie, Religulous, but it became very quickly apparent that he was there for more than that. Joy asked him if he wanted to "start," and as the conversation (read = attack) immediately started in on religion with Sherry and Elisabeth about Christianity and their beliefs. He called religion an "opinion," and even said that the reason America is extremely religious is because we are "young and dumb" as a nation. According to Maher, "Faith means lack of critical thinking," and he tells Sherry Sheppard that if she thinks God talks to her, she should be in Bellevue (Psychiatric Hospital). I don't think Maher made any friends today on the show, but he's not really well known for that anyway. Oh, and religion is not his only target; he goes after Sarah Palin, as well.
