A-Power Signs LOIs with GE Drivetrain Technologies to Supply 900 Wind Turbine Gearboxes and Establish Joint Venture to Build Wind Turbine Assembly Facility. On Jan. 11, 2009, A-Power Energy Generation Systems (Nasdaq: APWR) celebrated the launch of its first wind turbine production facility, the largest in China, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Shenyang, China. The inauguration unveiled A-Power's full-scale wind turbine production business, as well as German Fuhrlander Wind Generation (Shenyang) Company, which licenses its technology to A-Power.
