A friend of mine sells boats and he saw this sight yesterday. This guy had never owned a boat before and just took it out, hadn't yet purchased insurance. This is abot a $200K Boat. CATAWBA ISLAND -- A Florida man was charged with drunken boating after his cabin-cruiser went airborne late Monday and landed on Mouse Island, authorities said. The driver and boat owner, Keith Brown, 54, Ft. Lauderdale, and six un-identified passengers were not injured in the crash, said Petty Officer Bill Colclough of the U.S. Coast Guard, Cleveland Station. Brown refused to take a blood-alcohol content test and was charged with one misdemeanor count of drunken boating at the scene, said Jeff Nehls, Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Watercraft, Sandusky office supervisor. His initial appearance in Ottawa County Municipal Court has not been set. "I would say they were fortunate there were no injuries," Nehls said. "(The boat) was high and dry on the island."
